TREATMENT OPTIONS

Leah Darling Myofascial Release and Pilates Center Scottsdale AZ

Initial Session

During your initial session I review your history and assess standing posture, body alignment, joint mobility, biomechanics and perform a movement analysis.  In addition, I assess the different systems of the body which include the bones, joints, muscles, fascia, skin, nervous and lymphatic systems.  In further assessments I evaluate joint range of motion, mobility, muscular strength, flexibility and feel for Myofascial restrictions and rigidity.  Once I assimilate and process all this information I can then organize and design an appropriate, individualized treatment program. From the information gathered in this session we can discuss treatment options.  Any one or all of the treatment options listed below may be included in your follow up session.  Each session is one on one with me in a private setting and is $170.

Leah Darling Physical Therapy and Myofascial Release

Physical Therapy/Myofascial Release
(PT session)

Follow up Physical Therapy sessions may include a combination of Myofascial Release, Pilates, EQUESTRIAN PILATES®, CranioSacral Therapy and joint mobilization.  PT sessions may also include a specific Pilates based exercise program and a home self care plan specific to you and your needs.

Fascia is a tough connective tissue which spreads throughout the body in a three dimensional web from head to foot without interruption. Trauma, poor posture or inflammation can create a binding down of fascia resulting in excessive pressure on nerves, muscles, blood vessels, bone and organs. Many people suffering with pain and/or lack of motion may be having fascial problems. The John F. Barnes' Myofascial Release (MFR) Approach consists of gentle application of sustained pressure into fascial restriction.  This results in increased flexibility and pain relief. Each session is one on one with me in a private setting and is $170.

Leah Darling Pilates

Pilates

Pilates is an exercise system developed by Joseph Pilates to strengthen muscles, increase flexibility, and improve overall health. Pilates focuses on engaging the mind with the body to create exercises that involve the whole body. Every exercise is performed with attention to breath, proper form and efficient movement patterns.  I design an individualized program to address your unique needs. I then blend numerous Pilates exercises to enhance your body awareness into a positive movement experience.  These sessions may include mat, reformer, arc and trapeze table. Each session is one on one with me in a private setting and is $170.

Leah Darling Equestrian Pilates

Equestrian Pilates

EQUESTRIAN PILATES® is for riders of all disciplines and riding abilities.  EQUESTRIAN PILATES® starts with an off-the- horse evaluation.  This evaluation reveals your muscular strengths, weaknesses, movement patterns, inflexibilities and posture.  From this evaluation I design a program specifically for you and your needs.   This program gives you the tools to increase your body awareness, flexibility, strength and balance.  I will also teach you how your body affects your horse’s body and movements.  The horse and rider mirror one another.  A balanced, flexible and strong rider creates these same qualities in their horse.  How a rider moves OFF the horse is how they move ON the horse. Each session is one on one with me in a private setting and is $170.

Leah Darling Myofascial Cupping and Kinesiotaping

Myofascial Cupping and Kinesiotaping

Cupping therapy has been around for approximately 5,000 years.  "Where there is stagnation, there will be pain.  Remove the stagnation, and you remove the pain."  During treatments this modality of dry/static/fixed cupping is used for its mechanical effects, fluid dynamic theories and neuro-chemical effects.  In general terms the cupping helps create space by separating the tissue layers, brings more blood into the area and facilitates healing enzymes to the area. Each session is one on one with me in a private setting and is $170.

Leah Darling Equine Myofascial Release

Equine Myofascial Release

In addition to offering Myofascial Release for humans it can also be beneficial for your horse.  Equine Myofascial Release can be helpful for your horse’s pain, stiffness, lameness, inability to pick up a lead or maintain a gait.  It may also be helpful for changes in behavior, arthritis and decreased performance. Traveling treatment is available to the horse and their rider. Equine Myofascial Release is $120. If barn is 30 minutes or greater travel time, there is an additional $30 trip charge.
